AUGUSTIN Jean-Baptiste Jacques (1759-1832), PORTRAIT OF Louis Joseph DE BOURBON, PRINCE DE CONDÉ, MINIATURE CIRCA 1784.
One of the very first important miniature painted by Jean-Baptiste Jacques Augustin, at a time when the young artist was not yet signing his miniatures. Portrait of Louis Joseph DE BOURBON, Prince de CONDÉ, circa 1784. This miniature is illustrated in the artist’s catalogue raisonné by Dr Bernd Pappe, on page 235, inv. 24. An apocryphal signature "Hall 1790" has since been removed by Dr. Bernd Pappe during the cleaning of the work, the opening of the miniature allowing him to give this work to Augustin in person.
