Important miniature by Louis-Lié Périn-Salbreux (1753-1817), identified on the reverse, portrait of Barbe Simone Pauline Fournival, wife of Pierre Gonzague Corbin. Miniatures painted during Empire period by Périn-Salbreux are rare, the artist at that time , was withdrawn in order to take over his father’s family business. He painted little at the time eccept the portraits of his family and friends. This miniature was exhibited in Reims in 2020, during the Périn-Salbreux exhibition (Le Vergeur museum), which presented for the first time assembled works by Périn from the Louvre, Versailles and private collections.
