PORTRAIT OF Louis III Phélypeaux, COMTE DE SAINT-FLORENTIN, DUC DE LA VRILLIERE, MINISTER OF LOUIS XV, CIRCA 1769
Contemporary of the portrait paints by Louis Michel Van Loo in 1769, our miniature shows Louis III Phélypeaux, count de Saint Florentin, marquess then duke de La Vrillière (1705-1777), Secretary of Louis XV. The statesman is represented sat to his desk, raising the order Holy Spirit. The count de Saint Florentin then duke de La Vrillière, inherited from his father the responsibility of Secretary of the corporate affairs of the reformed claimed religion ( 1725 ), what did not prevent him from being received freemason in 1735.
