Rare miniature dating of begining of Cécile Villeneuve's career.

Pupil of Léon Cogniet, and  then  of François Meuret (who the influence is very present here), Cécile Villeneuve is considered, rightly, as the most talented of the last miniaturists of the 19th century.

This  beautiful portrait of the beginning of the reign of Napoleon III, is a magnificent example.
