Beautiful miniature by Jean-Daniel Welper ( 1730-1789 ), portrait of the princess of Bourbon-Condé.

Charlotte Godefride Elisabeth de Rohan was born on October 7th, 1737 in Paris. She is the dautghter of Charles de Rohan, prince de Soubise, close to Louis XV and by her mother Anne-Marie Louise de la Tour-d'Auvergne, the descendant of the dukes de Bouillon, granddaughter of Marie-Anne Mancini .  She married in 1753 Louis-Joseph de Bourbon, prince de Condé. It is doubtless of this period that dates this portrait of the princess in suit of whim.

The Tansey foundation possesses a double portrait of the prince and the princess de Condé by Welper. The artist handles the bust of the princess in the same pose, there, he changes  only the costume.
