PORTRAIT OF Frederick Christian, ELECTOR OF SAXONY, MINIATURE CIRCA 1760
Presumed portrait of Friedrich Christian Léopold Johan George Frans Xaverius von Sachsen, born on September 5th, 1722, died on December 17th, 1763. He was Prince-Elector of Saxony. He was a member of the House of Wettin. He was the third but eldest surviving son of Frederick Augustus II, Prince-Elector of Saxony and king of Poland, by his wife, Maria Josepha of Austria. The miniature kept its exceptional sculptured, crowned wooden frame. This miniature can form a pendant with Marie Therèse of Austria 's portrait (on sale separately), of which only the crown differs.TECHNIQUE:
