Miniature signed Valette to the right. Portrait identified on the back, by an old writing in the corner upper right, then detailed by the family on an added sheet. Portrait of Charles Eugene Galiber (Castres 1824-Paris 1909), vice-amiral and then Minister of the Navy. Montauban knownin the XVIIIeme century the painter and miniaturist Jean Valette-Falgous says Valette Penot (1710-1777). Our portrait being painted by 1850, it could be of the hand of a member of his family (maybe his son) which would be then a not yet referenced artist.TECHNIQUE:
