FRAME : Gilded and black wood Western posterior frame .

PORTRAIT SIZE: 9,5x8cm

FRAME SIZE: 13,5x12cm

DESCRIPTION :

Rare  Chinese miniature portrait, showing a young woman in traditional Qing Dynasty dress, playing Go game.

The work is painted on a thick ivory plate. On the back of the ivory, it preserves fragments of Chinese paper and characters, remnants of its original assembly.

The ivory plate was later framed in a western wood frame, calledby by nails , on a rigid cardboard, protected by a flat and bullied glass. This frame is unprofessional but looks quite old.

We find a similar Lady of our Go player in her traditional pink dress and hairstyle, in a Chinese watercolor (on the left) showing a wedding scene (Qing dynasty era).

CONDITION: Very good original condition. Accidents and gaps in the frame
