DESCRIPTION :

Portrait of two children, a little girl and her young brother, painted in the late 18th century.

She embraces with her arm the boy who holds her hand. A pink ribbon also connects the two children and strengthens the bond of attachment inducted by the composition.

This work was formerly attributed to Carl Frederik Viertel (Copenhagen 1772-1834). After verification and comparison with the works of this artist present at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, it turns out that the pictorial touch of faces is very far from that of Viertel . On the other hand, this work contains many elements that are totally consistent with the manner of Louis Ami Arlaud Jurine(1751-1829).
