CIRCLE OF Johann Georg ZIENSENIS (1716-1776), PORTRAIT OF A FATHER AND HIS FOUR CHILDREN, DOUBLE MINIATURE CIRCA 1760
Exceptional double medallion, two faces with a rare subject : - on a side : the father, - on the other side : his four children. This painting date of the mid-18th century. Besides the exploit of composition which gathers five portraits in one so small jewels, it is also necessary to admire the pictorial, wide and colored touch, more that of a painter than of a miniaturist. Bernd Pappe, who dusted the work, thinks maybe of the painter Johann Georg Ziesenis (1716-1776) and his entourage. Indeed, two of his daughters practised the paint and the miniature: Maria Elisabetha Ziensenis spoose Bodo Lampe and her sister, Marguaretha Ziensenis. TECHNIQUE:
