There are several versions of this famous self portrait of Louis François Aubry, present in the Louvre museum (inv 23588), signed by him and given to the museum by Mrs L.F. Aubry.

Aubry gave his self portrait to make by his pupils (as Augustin use to do) . But he painted himself replica as the original versions, one is in the collection David-Weill then to Close Collection (sale of Sotheby's 1986), an other one was exhibited in Brussels in 1912 (now in EPS Collection).

We also know a replica signed by Daniel Saint (Museum of Saint-Lô), one signed by Artaud (Museum of Lyon) ; one by Degot (museum of Caen); an other one signed J.A (collection Tansey), one by Mrs Jacquotot dated 1810 ( Wallace Collection)
