DESCRIPTION :

Miniature of the 1770s, the dismantling of which updated an identity hidden inside, that of Stéphanie Félicité du Crest de Saint Aubin, by her marriage countess de Genlis, marchioness de Sillery ( 1746-1830 ) .

She was very young noticed for her harpist's talents (instrument for which she created a method), then soothsayer writter, mistress of the duke de Chartres, and was in charge of the education of the children of Orléans family.

A signature is over the armchair, but illegible.


CONDITION: Very good condition. Cleaned by Dr. Bernd Pappe.
