Important miniature circa 1840, showing a sleepy young woman. The painting technique and the frame are French, but the work is doubtless the resumption of a more large painting not identified for the moment.

This composition, doubtless, inspired Fritz Zuber-Buhler (1822-1896) in his two entitled paintings "Reclining beauty" or the Gipsy"

CONDITION: Very good condition. 2 cracks restored by Bernd Pappe on left and right borders.
