DESCRIPTION :

First Empire miniature portrait, painted before 1804, dates  of Jérôme Langlois's death (1753-1804) .

The miniature is painted to give the illusion of a cameo on agate. This technique illusionist was fashionable under the Empire and practised by other artists as Louis-Bertin Parant (1768-1851) .

The work is signed lower left.


CONDITION: Very good original condition for the miniature. Moisture dullness at the top right. Fins and chipping on the frame
