PORTRAIT OF A MAN, OIL ON COPPER, 17th. CENTURY
Important miniature on copper of Louis XIV period, in a rich silver frame decorated with antique beadings ( "clinquants"). Portrait of a man with a long wig and a lace tie. This portrait could be dated from the 1660s, in comparison with the portrait of the young King Louis XIV, painted by Charles le Brun in 1661. This miniature, may be by Jacob Ferdinand Voet ( 1639-1700 ), is painted on a brass plate to engrave (reuse usual in this time) . A crown in engraved on the lapel.TECHNIQUE:
