Fine miniature by Jacques Charlier (1720-1790), characteristic by the hand of master himself : made with thick gouache for funds, shadows of body made with a wide green dotted line. Charlier often resumed the paints of his contemporary François Boucher, he created also many subjects in miniature. Painter to the King, having an immense success, he had a workshop near the Palais-Royal where he trained numerous pupils.TECHNIQUE:
