DESCRIPTION :

Miniature by KARPFF Jean-Jacques, says CASIMIR, signed lower right: Cr. F. (For Casimir Fecit) .

We knows the identity of the young man represented of profile with  another version of this miniature, also oval, in the E.P.S. collection, identified on reverse as M. Jean-Philippe Bronner's portrait.

Two other versions circular but on paper, were sold to Christie New York in 1998 and  Christie London in 2007. One of them is now in the collections of the museum Unterlinden of Colmar, reproduced page 117 of the catalog of the exhibition.
