François-Théodore Rochard, with his brother Simon-Jacques Rochard, although born in France, made all his career in England. He had the aristocracy for clientele. He exposed regularly to the Royal Academy. Our miniature, of a very large sizes and all in one piece, is signed and dated in the upper left with scraper : F. Rochard 1840. The composition will be similar of the famous portrait of Queen Victoria painted by Frantz Xaver Winterhalter in 1842.TECHNIQUE:
